Given the present electoral campaign, the Ordre des psychologues du Quebec takes this opportunity to ask the different political parties to disclose how they intend to follow up on the recommendations from the Commissaire à la santé et au bien-être that equitable access to psychotherapy should be ensured to all.
In a press release issued on March 25th, the Ordre denounces the lack of accessibility and the two-tier system that is currently taken rooth in Quebec. "The waiting lists are full, we are told that people have to wait several months - even a year or longer - before being able to consult with a psychologist in the public health care system. The next government must act!" says the President of the Ordre, Mrs. Rose-Marie Charest.
